Missed menstruation?

I often experience irregular menstrual cycles.
My last period started on May 17, and after having intercourse with my boyfriend on May 23, I still haven't gotten my period as of August 8.
We always used condoms, and there was no ejaculation inside, and I confirmed that the condom did not break.
Could I be pregnant, or is this a case of hormonal imbalance?

1.
For pregnancy concerns, please perform a home pregnancy test or visit a gynecologist for examination and evaluation four weeks after your most recent sexual intercourse.
2.
The menstrual cycle can be influenced by various psychological and physiological factors.
If your period is more than two months late, it is recommended to consult a gynecologist for examination and evaluation.

When it comes to missed periods, especially in the context of potential pregnancy or hormonal imbalance, there are several factors to consider. Based on your description, your last menstrual period was on May 17, and you have not had a period since then, with the current date being August 8. You mentioned that you and your boyfriend used condoms during intercourse, and you are confident that there was no breakage.
Firstly, it's important to understand that while using condoms significantly reduces the risk of pregnancy, no contraceptive method is 100% effective. The failure rate of condoms is approximately 2% with perfect use and about 18% with typical use. This means that while the chances of pregnancy are low, they are not zero.
Given that you have missed your period for over two months, it is advisable to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are designed to detect the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is produced during pregnancy. If the test is positive, it would confirm pregnancy. If it is negative and you still do not get your period, it may indicate a hormonal imbalance or other underlying issues.

Hormonal imbalances can occur for various reasons, including stress, significant weight changes, excessive exercise, or underlying medical conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders. These conditions can disrupt the normal menstrual cycle, leading to missed periods.
If you find that your pregnancy test is negative and your period does not return, it would be wise to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a more comprehensive evaluation, including blood tests to check hormone levels and possibly an ultrasound to assess your reproductive organs.
In addition to hormonal issues, other factors such as lifestyle changes, medications, and even certain health conditions can affect your menstrual cycle. For example, stress can lead to missed periods due to its impact on the hypothalamus, which regulates the hormones that control the menstrual cycle.
If you are experiencing other symptoms, such as significant weight changes, acne, excessive hair growth, or changes in appetite, these could also provide clues to the underlying cause of your missed periods.
In summary, while the use of condoms greatly reduces the likelihood of pregnancy, it is not infallible. Given the length of time since your last period, taking a home pregnancy test is a prudent first step. If the test is negative and your period does not resume, seeking medical advice is essential to rule out hormonal imbalances or other health issues. Your healthcare provider can guide you through the next steps, ensuring that you receive appropriate care and support.

Xiao Fang, you are a 21-year-old female. If your menstrual cycle is usually quite regular and this time it has been delayed for several days, and if pregnancy cannot be ruled out, you should take a pregnancy test (urine test) immediately to confirm whether you are pregnant.
