Menstruation has not occurred?

Hello doctor, my last menstrual period started on November 19 and lasted for 7 days.
My cycle can sometimes be early or late, but the flow is always normal.
I had some intimate contact with my boyfriend on December 3 and December 9 (he was wearing underwear while I was not, and there was no ejaculation).
We also engaged in mutual touching.
I am a virgin.
However, last week I noticed a discharge that was deep red, brown, and had some blood streaks.
For 1-2 days, the amount was similar to the 6th day of my menstrual period.
I am uncertain if I might be pregnant.
(Additional information: I took medication for a muscle strain and stomach medication between December 8 and December 15, but I am not sure if they contained antibiotics.)

Hello, the chances of pregnancy should be low.
If your period does not arrive in another week, it is advisable to see a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

When it comes to missed periods and the possibility of pregnancy, it’s essential to understand the various factors that can influence your menstrual cycle and the symptoms you may experience. Based on the details you've provided, let's break down your situation.

Firstly, you mentioned that your last menstrual period started on November 19 and lasted for seven days, which is within the normal range for menstrual cycles. You also noted that your cycle can sometimes be irregular, which is not uncommon. Irregularities in menstrual cycles can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, hormonal imbalances, changes in weight, and even certain medications.

The sexual activity you described, including dry humping and mutual touching, typically poses a low risk for pregnancy, especially since you mentioned that there was no ejaculation involved. However, it is important to note that pre-ejaculate fluid can contain sperm, albeit in small amounts, which could potentially lead to pregnancy, although the likelihood is low.

The presence of deep red, brown, and blood-streaked discharge could be indicative of several things. It might represent the tail end of your menstrual cycle, known as spotting, or it could be related to hormonal fluctuations. Spotting can occur for various reasons, including ovulation, implantation bleeding (if pregnancy has occurred), or even as a side effect of medications you may have taken, such as muscle relaxants or stomach medications. It’s important to check the ingredients of any medications you’ve taken to see if they could affect your menstrual cycle.

Given that you have experienced these symptoms and the irregularity of your cycle, it would be prudent to take a home pregnancy test if you have not done so already. Home pregnancy tests are generally reliable and can provide you with a clearer indication of whether or not you are pregnant. If the test is negative and your period does not arrive, it may be worth consulting with a healthcare provider for further evaluation.

In terms of psychological and emotional aspects, it’s normal to feel anxious or uncertain during this time. The fear of potential pregnancy can lead to stress, which in turn can affect your menstrual cycle. It’s crucial to take care of your mental health during this period. Engaging in open conversations with trusted friends or family members about your concerns can provide emotional support.

If you find that your symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience significant pain or discomfort, it’s advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a more thorough examination, including blood tests and ultrasounds, to rule out any underlying conditions and provide you with peace of mind.

In summary, while the possibility of pregnancy exists, the likelihood appears low based on the activities described. However, irregularities in your cycle and the symptoms you are experiencing warrant further investigation. Taking a pregnancy test and consulting with a healthcare professional will help clarify your situation and guide you on the next steps. Remember, your health and well-being are paramount, and seeking professional advice is always a wise choice when in doubt.
