Please help me?
Hello, I have developed many small bumps at the junction of my glans, foreskin, and scrotum (a very large number).
Although they are not painful or itchy, they are bothersome.
I admit that I often masturbate (sometimes daily, sometimes once every week or two, and this has been going on for four to five years).
Could this be related to masturbation? They sometimes disappear, but most of the time they are very troubling to me.

Hello, based on what you've described, it seems to be related to some sebaceous glands.
There is no major concern, and it is unlikely to be related to masturbation.
However, I recommend that you visit a urology clinic for peace of mind.

Understanding penile bumps can be a source of concern for many men, especially when they appear on sensitive areas such as the glans (head of the penis), the foreskin, and the scrotum. The presence of numerous small bumps in these areas can be attributed to several potential causes, and while they may not be painful or itchy, it is essential to understand their nature and any associated concerns.
One common cause of small bumps on the penis is pearly penile papules. These are small, harmless, dome-shaped bumps that typically appear around the corona of the glans. They are a normal anatomical variant and are not associated with any disease or infection. Pearly penile papules are often mistaken for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or other skin conditions, but they do not require treatment unless they cause significant distress.
Another possibility is the presence of folliculitis, which is the inflammation of hair follicles. This can occur due to irritation from shaving, friction from clothing, or even from frequent masturbation. Folliculitis may present as small red or white bumps and can sometimes become infected, leading to discomfort. Maintaining proper hygiene and avoiding irritants can help manage this condition.
Additionally, sebaceous cysts can develop in the genital area. These are small, benign lumps that form when sebaceous glands become blocked. They are typically painless and may fluctuate in size. While they are not harmful, if they become inflamed or infected, they may require medical attention.
Regarding the relationship between frequent masturbation and the appearance of these bumps, it is unlikely that masturbation itself is the direct cause of the bumps. However, excessive friction or irritation from vigorous masturbation could potentially lead to skin irritation or inflammation, which may contribute to the development of bumps or other skin changes. It is essential to practice moderation and ensure that any sexual activity is done gently to minimize irritation.
If the bumps are persistent, changing in appearance, or accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, itching, or discharge, it is crucial to seek medical advice. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination and may recommend tests if necessary to rule out STIs or other skin conditions. It is also important to discuss any concerns about sexual health, as open communication with a healthcare professional can provide reassurance and guidance.
In summary, while the presence of small bumps on the penis can be concerning, many causes are benign and do not require treatment. However, if there are any changes in the bumps or associated symptoms, it is advisable to consult a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and management plan. Taking care of your genital health through good hygiene practices and being mindful of any changes is essential for overall well-being.
