Nipple issues!

My nipples and areolas are parallel! They look like a woman's.
It seems that women's nipples become erect during sexual arousal, while men's are usually protruding.
Mine are aligned with the areola! Occasionally, they do become erect, which is different from men...
Am I an alien? Is this situation due to having too much female hormone? Is this considered normal? I am a bit chubby!

Dr. Lu Daokuan reply Plastic Surgery

Nipple inversion is caused by a deficiency of connective tissue beneath the nipple, and it has three degrees of severity.
In more severe cases, the nipple may not protrude at all, requiring surgical intervention for correction.

Understanding the appearance of nipples and areolas can indeed be influenced by hormonal balance, and it is important to recognize that variations in nipple shape and size are common among individuals, regardless of gender. The appearance of your nipples, whether they are flat, protruding, or somewhere in between, can be influenced by several factors, including hormonal levels, genetics, and body composition.

Hormones play a crucial role in the development and appearance of breast tissue, including the nipples and areolas. In females, estrogen and progesterone are the primary hormones that influence breast development, particularly during puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Elevated levels of estrogen can lead to increased breast tissue and changes in nipple appearance, while lower levels may result in less pronounced features. In males, testosterone is the dominant hormone, and its levels can also affect breast tissue, although typically to a lesser extent than in females.

Your observation about the nipples being parallel to the areola and occasionally becoming erect is not unusual. Nipple erection can occur in response to various stimuli, including temperature changes, physical stimulation, or sexual arousal, and is a normal physiological response for both men and women. The fact that your nipples sometimes protrude indicates that they can respond to stimuli, which is typical.

Regarding your concern about having "too much" female hormone, it is essential to understand that hormonal balance is not solely determined by the appearance of your nipples. Hormonal levels can fluctuate due to various factors, including stress, diet, exercise, and overall health. If you are experiencing other symptoms such as irregular menstrual cycles, weight gain, or skin changes (like acne), it may be worthwhile to consult a healthcare professional. They can conduct tests to evaluate your hormone levels, including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and other relevant hormones.

Body composition can also influence how your breasts and nipples appear. If you are carrying extra weight, it can lead to increased fat deposits in the breast area, which may affect the overall shape and size of your breasts and nipples. However, this does not necessarily indicate an imbalance in your hormones.
If you are concerned about your body image or hormonal health, consider discussing your feelings with a healthcare provider. They can provide guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including nutrition and exercise, which can help regulate hormones and improve overall well-being.
In summary, the appearance of your nipples and areolas can be influenced by hormonal balance, body composition, and individual genetics. Variations in nipple shape are normal, and occasional changes in response to stimuli are expected. If you have concerns about your hormonal health or body image, seeking professional advice can provide clarity and support. Remember, everyone’s body is unique, and what is normal for one person may differ for another.
