There are small raised bumps under the foreskin?
Hello Doctor, I would like to ask you a question.
There are many small white bumps on the part under my foreskin (the part that is usually not visible when urinating), extending from the glans to the area near the testicles.
I usually don't feel anything, but occasionally it feels a bit itchy.
When I use my hand to hold my penis while going to the bathroom or during an erection, I notice that the skin under the foreskin feels particularly rough and has a bumpy texture (the glans does not have this condition).
I have not engaged in sexual intercourse, only masturbation.
Could this be a bacterial infection from my hands or a sexually transmitted infection? I apologize for bothering you with my questions.
Do I need to see a doctor at the hospital? Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions despite your busy schedule; I really appreciate it.

Freshly Picked Tomatoes: Hello, based on your description, I personally believe it resembles something similar to acne.
Generally, there are no significant symptoms, but heat or excessive sweating can cause localized itching.
You can apply some topical ointment to alleviate the symptoms; enhancing local hygiene practices should also be effective.
It would be best to provide a clearer description for a more accurate assessment.
However, I believe it is unrelated to sexually transmitted diseases.

Understanding the presence of white bumps under the foreskin can be concerning, especially when accompanied by symptoms like itching or roughness. Based on your description, there are several potential causes for these white bumps, and it’s important to differentiate between benign conditions and those that may require medical attention.
One common cause of white bumps under the foreskin is Pearly Penile Papules. These are small, dome-shaped bumps that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head of the penis) and are completely normal anatomical variations. They are not infectious and do not require treatment unless they cause distress or discomfort.
Another possibility is Fordyce Spots, which are small, painless, pale bumps that can appear on the shaft of the penis and are simply enlarged sebaceous glands. Like pearly penile papules, they are harmless and do not require treatment.
However, if the bumps are accompanied by itching, discomfort, or changes in the skin texture, it could indicate a condition such as Balanitis, which is inflammation of the glans and can be caused by poor hygiene, infections, or irritants. In such cases, maintaining proper hygiene and using gentle, non-irritating cleansers can help alleviate symptoms.
Additionally, while you mentioned that you have not engaged in sexual intercourse, it is still possible to contract infections through other means, including masturbation. Conditions such as Genital Warts, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), or Herpes Simplex Virus can present with bumps or lesions in the genital area. These infections may also be accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, itching, or discharge.
Given your concerns about potential bacterial infections or sexually transmitted infections (STIs), it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional. A doctor can perform a physical examination and may recommend tests to rule out infections or other conditions. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial, especially if an infection is present.
In summary, while many causes of white bumps under the foreskin are benign, the presence of itching or discomfort warrants a medical evaluation. A healthcare provider can offer a definitive diagnosis and appropriate treatment options based on your specific symptoms and medical history. It’s always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health, so seeking professional advice is a wise decision.
