There are intermittent sharp pains in the left chest, making it difficult to breathe properly?


Sometimes, without warning, I suddenly experience severe cramping pain in my left chest, resembling a muscle spasm, which makes it difficult for me to breathe.
The more forcefully I breathe, the more intense the pain in my heart becomes, leading to a feeling of suffocation.
The pain is so severe that I start to sweat, but after a while, it feels like nothing is wrong, and I can breathe normally again without any heart pain.

This is a phenomenon not uncommon among young people.
In my younger days, I experienced this as well, although the pain was intense enough to make me sweat, which is a bit exaggerated! It doesn't seem like the sharp pain from the heart itself; it's more likely to be intercostal nerve pain.
Some say this could be a symptom of mitral valve prolapse, which is possible, but it may also not be the case.
In any event, it should not be a major concern and is not indicative of serious heart disease.
