I have a few questions I would like to ask the doctor?

Hello, Doctor Hsu: I have a few questions I would like to ask you.

1.
Recently, I have been feeling weak when urinating, and sometimes I really have the urge but can't urinate.
I am afraid that other students will notice, so I wait until class is over to go to the restroom.
Is this a problem with my bladder?
2.
Occasionally, I experience slight pain in my left testicle.

3.
I masturbate about five times a week; is this considered excessive?
4.
Can excessive masturbation lead to premature ejaculation or a smaller penis size in the future?
5.
My penis measures about 6.3 cm when not erect, but sometimes it shrinks to around 3.x cm.

6.
When I am not erect, my foreskin covers the entire glans, but when erect, it only exposes half of the glans.
Is there a need for circumcision?
7.
If I want to increase the size of my penis, is there a way to do that? Please help me with these questions!

Hello! Thank you for your questions regarding urology and related concerns. Let's address each of your points in detail.

1. Urination Issues: The sensation of weak urination or urgency without the ability to urinate can be indicative of several underlying conditions. It could be related to bladder dysfunction, such as overactive bladder or bladder outlet obstruction. Other possibilities include urinary tract infections (UTIs), prostate issues (in males), or even neurological conditions affecting bladder control. It's essential to consult a urologist for a thorough evaluation, which may include a physical examination, urinalysis, and possibly imaging studies to determine the exact cause of your symptoms.

2. Testicular Pain: Experiencing pain in the left testicle can be concerning and may arise from various causes, including epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis), testicular torsion, or even referred pain from other areas. It’s crucial to seek medical attention if the pain persists, as some conditions require immediate intervention.

3. Masturbation Frequency: Masturbating five times a week is generally considered within the normal range for many individuals. However, if you feel that it interferes with your daily life, responsibilities, or relationships, it might be worth discussing with a healthcare provider.

4. Effects of Excessive Masturbation: There is a common myth that excessive masturbation can lead to issues such as premature ejaculation or penile size reduction. However, current medical understanding does not support these claims. Masturbation is a normal sexual activity and does not inherently cause long-term sexual dysfunction.

5. Penile Size Variability: It is normal for the size of the penis to vary due to factors such as temperature, arousal level, and individual anatomy. The size can fluctuate between states of arousal and flaccidity. If you have concerns about your size, it's important to remember that penis size does not determine sexual function or satisfaction.

6. Foreskin Issues: If your foreskin covers the glans (head) of the penis when flaccid but retracts partially when erect, this may not necessarily require circumcision. However, if you experience discomfort, difficulty retracting the foreskin, or recurrent infections, it would be advisable to consult a urologist. They can provide guidance on whether circumcision or other treatments are appropriate for your situation.

7. Penile Enlargement: Many individuals seek ways to increase penile size, but it’s important to approach this topic with caution. Most methods advertised for penile enlargement, such as pills, pumps, or surgeries, come with risks and may not provide the desired results. If you are considering this, it is crucial to consult with a qualified urologist who can discuss safe and effective options, if any exist.

In summary, your concerns about urination, testicular pain, and sexual health are valid and should be addressed with a healthcare professional. Urology encompasses a wide range of issues, and understanding the underlying causes of your symptoms is essential for effective treatment. Always prioritize open communication with your healthcare provider to ensure you receive the best care tailored to your needs.
