The location of pearly penile papules?

Hello Doctor, I have developed pearly penile papules near the edge of the glans, close to the coronal sulcus.
Additionally, I have noticed something that looks similar to pearly penile papules at the junction of the urethral opening and the glans.
According to online information, pearly penile papules are common in the coronal sulcus, but I have a small row of them (neatly arranged along the urethral opening, about 4 to 5 very small, beige-colored bumps) at the junction of the urethral opening and the glans.
I am certain it is not smegma (as it cannot be washed away).
My question is: is it possible for pearly penile papules, which are benign sebaceous growths, to occur at the junction of the urethral opening and the glans? (I currently have no sexual experience.) Thank you for your response, Doctor!

Hello, the pearl glands are generally located in the coronal sulcus.
It is advisable to seek medical attention for confirmation.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again, and we can discuss and research further.

Dear Patient,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding pearly penile papules (PPP) and your concerns about their location. It's understandable to feel anxious when you notice changes in your body, especially in sensitive areas. Let’s delve into your questions and provide some clarity.

Pearly penile papules are small, benign growths that typically appear around the corona of the glans penis. They are often described as small, dome-shaped, and usually range in color from white to yellowish. These papules are a normal anatomical variant and are not associated with any disease or infection. They are most commonly found in males who are uncircumcised, but they can also appear in circumcised individuals.

Regarding your specific concern about the presence of similar papules at the junction of the urethral opening and the glans, it is indeed possible for pearly penile papules to appear in that area, although they are most commonly located around the corona. The appearance of these papules in a line along the urethral opening is not typical, but it does not rule out the possibility of them being benign. The fact that you have not engaged in sexual activity further supports the likelihood that these are not sexually transmitted infections or other pathological conditions.

It’s important to differentiate between pearly penile papules and other conditions that may present similarly, such as genital warts or Fordyce spots. Fordyce spots are small, painless, pale bumps that can appear on the shaft of the penis and are also benign. Genital warts, on the other hand, are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and may require medical evaluation and treatment.

If you are certain that these bumps are not smegma (a combination of dead skin cells and oils), and they have a consistent appearance with pearly penile papules, it is likely that they are benign. However, if you notice any changes in size, color, or if they become painful or irritated, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough examination.

In terms of management, if these papules are indeed pearly penile papules, they do not require treatment as they are harmless. However, if they cause you significant concern or distress, there are cosmetic procedures available, such as laser therapy or cryotherapy, that can remove them.

In conclusion, while it is possible for pearly penile papules to appear at the junction of the urethral opening and the glans, it is essential to monitor their characteristics and consult a healthcare provider if you have any doubts or if they change in appearance. Remember, it’s always better to seek professional advice when it comes to your health, especially in sensitive areas.
