Post-ejaculation issues?
Hello doctor, I tend to have a higher secretion of Cowper's fluid.
I experience prolonged erections, and I notice that I produce this fluid when I see something stimulating.
I've also observed that after ejaculation, I continue to release Cowper's fluid.
Sometimes, when I sit down or run, this fluid will leak out, but it returns to normal the next day.
Is this a normal phenomenon?

Post-ejaculation concerns, particularly regarding the fluid from Cowper's glands (also known as bulbourethral glands), can be a source of confusion for many individuals. The Cowper's glands are responsible for producing a pre-ejaculatory fluid that serves several purposes, including lubrication of the urethra and neutralization of any acidity in the urethra, which can be beneficial for sperm viability.
In your case, it seems that you are experiencing a noticeable amount of this fluid both during arousal and after ejaculation. This is not uncommon. The amount of pre-ejaculatory fluid can vary significantly among individuals, and some may produce more than others. The fluid itself is typically clear and may have a slightly viscous consistency.
When you mention that you notice this fluid after ejaculation, it is important to understand that the Cowper's glands can continue to secrete fluid even after the main ejaculation has occurred. This can happen due to residual stimulation or arousal. Additionally, physical activities such as sitting or running may cause some of this fluid to be expelled from the urethra, which can lead to the sensation of leakage.
From a medical standpoint, this phenomenon is generally considered normal, especially if there are no accompanying symptoms such as pain, discomfort, or unusual changes in the fluid's color or consistency. If the fluid is clear and does not have an unpleasant odor, it is likely just a continuation of the normal function of the Cowper's glands.
However, if you notice any changes in the characteristics of the fluid, such as a change in color (e.g., yellow or green), a foul smell, or if you experience pain during urination or ejaculation, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional. These could be signs of an underlying condition that may require further evaluation.
In summary, what you are experiencing appears to be a normal physiological response related to the function of the Cowper's glands. As long as you are not experiencing any discomfort or concerning symptoms, there is likely no need for alarm. However, maintaining open communication with your healthcare provider about any changes or concerns is always a good practice for your overall health and well-being.
