The foreskin has small spots?
When I retract my foreskin, I notice many small bumps on it that cannot be squeezed out.
They are not painful or itchy, but there are quite a few, which makes me worried that it might be a sexually transmitted infection.
There are also bumps in the areas with nerve endings on the foreskin.
I usually pull back the foreskin to wash those spots, but they don't come off.
Will continuous washing eventually make them disappear?

Dr. Wu Yuxin reply Dermatology
Based on the literal description, it is not possible to confirm the condition without actually seeing the lesion.
It is recommended to have a physician evaluate it to determine the next steps.
If necessary, surgery or a biopsy may be required.

Understanding small bumps on the foreskin can be a source of concern for many individuals, especially when there is uncertainty about their nature and potential implications for sexual health. It's important to recognize that not all bumps or spots on the foreskin are indicative of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or other serious conditions.
The small bumps you are describing could be a variety of benign conditions. One common cause of small, painless bumps on the foreskin is pearly penile papules, which are small, dome-shaped lesions that typically appear around the corona of the glans. These are completely normal anatomical variations and are not associated with any disease or infection. They are harmless and do not require treatment.
Another possibility is Fordyce spots, which are small, painless, pale bumps that can appear on the shaft of the penis or the foreskin. These are sebaceous glands that are visible through the skin and are also a normal anatomical feature. Like pearly penile papules, Fordyce spots are not a cause for concern and do not require any treatment.
If the bumps you are experiencing are not painful, itchy, or associated with any other symptoms such as discharge or odor, they are likely benign. However, it is crucial to maintain good hygiene, as you mentioned washing the area regularly. While washing may help keep the area clean, it is unlikely to make these bumps disappear if they are indeed normal anatomical features.
In some cases, small bumps could be related to other conditions such as folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles), cysts, or even warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). If the bumps change in appearance, become painful, or if you develop other symptoms such as itching or discharge, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation.
It's understandable to feel anxious about changes in your body, especially in sensitive areas. If you are concerned about the possibility of an STI or any other condition, it is best to seek medical advice. A healthcare provider can perform a physical examination, provide a proper diagnosis, and recommend any necessary treatment or reassurance.
In summary, while small bumps on the foreskin can be concerning, many are benign and do not indicate a serious health issue. Maintaining good hygiene is important, and if you have ongoing concerns or if the bumps change, seeking medical advice is the best course of action. Remember, open communication with a healthcare provider can help alleviate fears and provide clarity regarding your health.
