Pearly penile papules?
Hello doctor, a few days ago I showered and cleaned my foreskin without any issues.
However, starting the day before yesterday, I began to feel a slight itch around the foreskin area.
Upon examination, I noticed several small bumps on the right side of the foreskin, but there is no redness.
There are about ten or so bumps, and they are not painful.
Could this be Fordyce spots? How long will it take to resolve? There is no similar medical history in my family, and I have not had any sexual relations with others.

Hello, you might not be.
However, I cannot confirm that.
You can start with local cleaning: use cold water, and do not use any soap or body wash.
Check the results after a few days.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again, and we can discuss and research further.

When it comes to small bumps around the foreskin, there are several potential causes, and understanding these can help in determining the appropriate treatment. Based on your description, it sounds like you may be experiencing a condition known as Fordyce spots, which are small, painless, pale bumps that can appear on the shaft of the penis or around the foreskin. These spots are actually sebaceous glands that are not associated with hair follicles and are completely normal. They are not a sign of any disease or infection and typically do not require treatment.
Fordyce spots are common and can appear at any age. They are harmless and do not pose any health risks. If they are indeed Fordyce spots, they may not go away completely, but they can become less noticeable over time. Many people have them without even realizing it, as they are often asymptomatic and do not cause any discomfort.
However, it is important to consider other potential causes for the bumps you are experiencing. For instance, if the bumps are itchy or if you notice any redness or swelling, this could indicate a different issue, such as a fungal infection, irritation, or even a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Conditions like balanitis, which is inflammation of the glans (the head of the penis), can also cause similar symptoms and may require treatment.
If the bumps are accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, discharge, or persistent itching, it would be advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a physical examination and may recommend tests to rule out any infections or other conditions.
In terms of treatment, if the bumps are indeed Fordyce spots, no treatment is necessary. However, if they are due to an infection or another condition, your doctor may prescribe antifungal or antibacterial medications, depending on the diagnosis.
In conclusion, while Fordyce spots are a common and benign condition, it is essential to monitor your symptoms. If you notice any changes or if the bumps become bothersome, do not hesitate to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation and appropriate management. Remember, maintaining good hygiene and avoiding irritants can help prevent further irritation in the area.
