Missed menstruation?
The menstrual period in July was from July 26 to July 31, and in August it was from August 21 to August 27.
In September, the menstrual cycle was irregular, with intermittent bleeding starting on September 9.
The discharge was dark in color.
I visited a gynecologist for a menstrual induction injection and medication, and then my menstrual period occurred from September 26 to October 1.
I had sexual intercourse on October 2, October 9, October 10, October 17, and October 24, using condoms.
During ejaculation, I withdrew and ejaculated into the condom.
I also checked the condom for leaks by filling it with water, and there were no leaks.
Recently, I have been feeling like my period is about to start, but it hasn't come yet.
Additionally, I have a lot of discharge, but the color is normal.
When I touch my abdomen, I can feel a slight bulge in the lower abdomen.
Could this indicate pregnancy?

Dr. Lü Lizheng reply Obstetrics and Gynecology
If condoms were used consistently, the likelihood of pregnancy is low.
It is recommended to take a pregnancy test, as it is more direct and accurate.
The last sexual intercourse was on October 24th, and after a gap of 18 days, if menstruation has not occurred by November 11th, a pregnancy test should be taken.
Sincerely, Dr.

When it comes to missed periods and the possibility of pregnancy, it's essential to consider several factors, including your menstrual cycle history, sexual activity, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. Based on the details you've provided, let's break down your situation.
Your last menstrual period (LMP) was from July 26 to July 31, and your subsequent cycle in August was from August 21 to August 27. You mentioned that your September cycle was irregular, with some spotting starting on September 9. After receiving medication to induce menstruation, you had a period from September 26 to October 1. Following that, you engaged in sexual activity on several occasions in October, using condoms and practicing withdrawal before ejaculation.
Given this context, the likelihood of pregnancy can be assessed. The use of condoms, especially when checked for integrity (by filling with water), significantly reduces the risk of pregnancy. Additionally, the withdrawal method, when performed correctly, can further decrease the chances of conception. However, no contraceptive method is 100% effective, and there is always a small risk of pregnancy with any sexual activity.
The symptoms you are experiencing, such as the feeling of an impending period and increased vaginal discharge, can be attributed to various factors, including hormonal fluctuations, stress, or even the effects of the medications you took to induce menstruation. It's not uncommon for women to experience changes in their menstrual cycle after taking hormonal medications, which can lead to delayed periods or altered symptoms.
To determine whether you might be pregnant, the most reliable method is to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are designed to detect the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced during pregnancy. If you take a test and it is negative but your period still does not arrive, it may be advisable to wait a few days and test again, as hCG levels can take time to rise, especially if conception occurred close to your expected period.
If you continue to experience unusual symptoms or if your period remains absent after a couple of tests, it would be wise to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a blood test to check for pregnancy and evaluate any other potential causes for your symptoms, such as hormonal imbalances or other medical conditions.
In summary, while the risk of pregnancy seems low given your contraceptive measures, it is not impossible. Monitoring your symptoms and taking a pregnancy test will provide clarity. If you have any concerns or if your symptoms persist, seeking medical advice is always a good step to ensure your health and peace of mind.
