I have always had questions?

Hello, I would like to ask about some small, light yellow spots near the glans of my penis.
There are only a few of them, about the size of a pinhead.
I have not engaged in sexual intercourse, and they are neither painful nor itchy.
I first noticed them in sixth grade, and now I am in the second year of high school.
The spots have not changed position; they are located near the blood vessels, and there are no other spots around them, nor have they increased in number.
Is this due to inadequate cleaning? Could it be a sexually transmitted infection? I saw a urologist in sixth grade who said it was nothing to worry about.

Azhong, 10~19 year old female. Ask Date: 2016/01/24

Hello, this is not a sexually transmitted disease.
It could be related to sebaceous glands or something similar.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again, and we can discuss and research further.
Answers found online should only be used as a reference; if necessary, it is still important to seek medical attention at a healthcare facility.

More Info

It sounds like you are experiencing some concerns regarding small yellowish bumps near the glans of your penis. Based on your description, these bumps are small, have been present for several years without any changes, and are not associated with pain or itching. Given these characteristics, it is important to consider a few possibilities.

Firstly, these yellowish bumps could be sebaceous cysts or pearly penile papules. Sebaceous cysts are small, benign lumps that can occur when sebaceous glands become blocked. They are typically harmless and can appear as small, yellowish bumps. Pearly penile papules are also normal anatomical variations that appear as small, dome-shaped bumps around the corona of the glans. They are completely benign and do not require treatment.

Since you mentioned that you have not engaged in sexual activity and that a urologist previously assessed the bumps without concern, it is likely that these bumps are not indicative of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or any other serious condition. STIs often present with additional symptoms such as pain, itching, discharge, or changes in urination, which you have not described.

Regarding cleanliness, it is essential to maintain proper hygiene, especially in the genital area. Regular washing with mild soap and water can help prevent the buildup of smegma, which is a combination of dead skin cells and oils that can accumulate under the foreskin. However, the presence of these bumps does not necessarily indicate poor hygiene, especially since they have been stable over time.

If you are still concerned about these bumps, or if you notice any changes in size, color, or associated symptoms, it would be advisable to follow up with a healthcare provider, preferably a urologist. They can perform a physical examination and, if necessary, conduct further tests to ensure that there are no underlying issues.

In summary, based on your description, it seems that the yellow bumps near the glans are likely benign and not a cause for concern. However, maintaining good hygiene and monitoring any changes is always a good practice. If you have any lingering doubts or if the situation changes, seeking medical advice is the best course of action.

It's really too detailed, but the entire process doesn't seem like a rash infection, and it doesn't look like a "sexually transmitted disease." I suggest you visit a hospital to see a urologist for an examination.
