Missed menstruation?
I started my period on February 23 and it ended on the 29th, lasting about seven days with a cycle of approximately 30 days.
Sometimes it can be early or late by two to three days.
On March 9, I experienced a little bleeding, and I'm unsure if it was ovulation bleeding.
I had unprotected intercourse on March 4, 16, and 20.
My period is expected around the 23rd of this month, but it hasn't arrived yet, and I am now eight days late.
The longest I have been late before was seven days, and I haven't experienced any symptoms related to pregnancy or premenstrual syndrome.
Is it possible that I could be pregnant?

When it comes to missed periods and the possibility of pregnancy, it is essential to consider various factors, including menstrual cycle regularity, timing of sexual intercourse, and any symptoms that may indicate pregnancy. Based on your description, you have a history of irregular cycles, which can complicate the assessment of whether you might be pregnant.
Firstly, let's address the timing of your menstrual cycle. You mentioned that your cycle typically lasts about 30 days, with some variability of a few days earlier or later. If your last period started on February 23 and lasted for seven days, you would expect your next period around March 23. Since you are currently eight days late, it is reasonable to consider the possibility of pregnancy, especially since you had unprotected intercourse on March 4, 16, and 20.
The absence of typical premenstrual symptoms can also be a factor. Many women experience symptoms such as breast tenderness, bloating, mood swings, or cramping before their period. However, some women may not exhibit these symptoms, especially if they have irregular cycles. The lack of these symptoms does not rule out pregnancy.
Given that you have missed your period, the next step would be to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are designed to detect the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is produced shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. For the most accurate results, it is recommended to take the test after your missed period, as hCG levels will be higher and more detectable.
If the home pregnancy test is positive, it is advisable to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and confirmation through a blood test or ultrasound. If the test is negative and your period does not start, it may be worth consulting a healthcare professional to discuss your irregular cycles and any underlying issues that may be affecting your menstrual health.
Irregular menstrual cycles can be caused by various factors, including hormonal imbalances, stress, significant weight changes, or underlying medical conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). If you have a history of irregular cycles, it may be beneficial to explore these aspects with your healthcare provider.
In summary, while there is a possibility of pregnancy given your missed period and recent unprotected intercourse, the best course of action is to take a home pregnancy test and consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and further evaluation. Understanding your menstrual health and any irregularities can help you make informed decisions about your reproductive health.
