It has been nearly three months since the circumcision, and the swelling has not subsided, and the sutured area has still not fully healed?
Hello, around the end of June, I experienced recurrent inflammation of the glans (balanitis).
After taking medication and applying topical treatments without improvement, I decided to undergo a circumcision.
However, it has been three months since the procedure, and I still have symptoms of smegma accumulation (I believe this is due to the presence of a lot of serous fluid, which makes it appear lumpy; I apologize if this is incorrect).
The right side of my penis does not show signs of smegma accumulation, but the sutures are still visibly not fully healed, and I experience pain when touched or when they rub against my underwear.
On the left side, the smegma accumulation symptoms are still quite severe, and sometimes it even feels like there is more serous fluid inside (the lumpy appearance seems to be more pronounced); however, at times it subsides, but there are no signs of complete resolution.
I am unsure if I have provided enough detail, but if you understand my situation, could you please let me know if this is normal? Is there a need to seek medical attention, or are there any methods to expedite or treat this condition?

Hello: During the follow-up visit, we will check if there is any improvement in circulation.
Additionally, your constitution may also play a role, and it is likely to gradually improve.
Please take good care of the wound scar.
Wishing you good health.

Persistent swelling and healing issues after circumcision can be concerning, especially when symptoms like those you described continue for an extended period. It’s important to understand that while some swelling and discomfort can be expected after surgery, prolonged symptoms may indicate complications that need to be addressed.
From your description, it seems that you are experiencing a few key issues:
1. Swelling and Fluid Accumulation: The "奶油獅" (which translates to "cream lion," likely referring to a condition where there is a buildup of fluid or tissue under the skin) suggests that there may be some fluid retention or possibly a seroma, which is a pocket of clear fluid that can develop after surgery. This can occur due to the body’s healing process, but if it persists or worsens, it may require medical evaluation.
2. Delayed Healing of Sutures: The fact that the sutures are still prominent and have not fully healed after three months is concerning. Typically, sutures from a circumcision should dissolve or be removed within a few weeks, and the area should show signs of healing. If the sutures are still visible and causing pain, this could indicate an infection or improper healing.
3. Pain and Discomfort: Pain during contact with clothing or when touched is not uncommon immediately after surgery, but persistent pain after three months is not typical. This could be due to inflammation, infection, or other complications.
Given these symptoms, it is advisable to seek medical attention. Here are some steps you can take:
- Consult a Urologist or Surgeon: It is crucial to follow up with the healthcare provider who performed the circumcision or a urologist. They can assess the area for signs of infection, improper healing, or other complications. They may perform a physical examination and possibly imaging studies if necessary.
- Monitor for Signs of Infection: Look for symptoms such as increased redness, warmth, discharge, or fever, which could indicate an infection. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
- Avoid Irritation: Until you can see a doctor, try to minimize irritation to the area. Wear loose-fitting underwear and avoid activities that may cause friction or pressure on the site.
- Follow Post-Operative Care Instructions: If you were given specific post-operative care instructions, ensure you are following them closely. This may include keeping the area clean and dry, applying any prescribed ointments, and avoiding certain activities.
- Consider Pain Management: If you are experiencing significant pain, over-the-counter pain relievers may help, but consult your doctor before taking any medication.
In summary, while some swelling and discomfort can be expected after circumcision, the persistence of these symptoms after three months warrants a medical evaluation. It is essential to address any potential complications early to ensure proper healing and avoid further issues. Please make an appointment with your healthcare provider as soon as possible to discuss your symptoms and receive appropriate care.
