After the circumcision, it was found that erections are painful, as if being tightly bound by a rubber band?
I previously underwent a circumcision procedure using a circumcision device.
During the surgery, I heard the doctor mention that size 26 seemed a bit tight.
The nurse only allowed me to briefly check that the device was new and unopened, but did not inform me of the size or model.
During the procedure, I requested 2-3 stitches, and the next day I reported to the doctor that it felt very tight.
The doctor immediately used scissors to create two openings around the sutures.
A week later, he cut 2-3 more stitches.
Two weeks later, when the sutures were removed, I noticed that erections were painful and felt constricted, as if being tied with a rubber band.
After swelling, the area around the wound felt indented, resembling an additional O-ring.
1.
Could this phenomenon be caused by an incorrect size of the circumcision device?
2.
Is there a way to address this issue? I have noticed that when not erect, it feels like there is a tight band, and the glans does not easily retract.

Hello: 1.
Generally, it is not common; if the size is incorrect, it can lead to operational difficulties.
2.
It is often due to the formation of scar tissue, which has poor elasticity; it is recommended to return for a follow-up consultation.
Wishing you good health.

Post-circumcision pain, particularly the sensation of tightness or feeling like a rubber band during an erection, can be a distressing experience for many individuals. This sensation may arise from several factors related to the surgical procedure, healing process, and anatomical changes that occur after circumcision.
1. Surgical Technique and Size: The use of a circumcision device, such as a circumcision clamp or gun, is designed to facilitate the procedure by providing a controlled method for removing the foreskin. However, if the device is not appropriately sized for the individual, it can lead to complications. If the circumcision was too tight, it could result in excessive tension on the remaining skin, leading to discomfort during erections. The feeling of being "tied up" or constricted could be due to the remaining skin being pulled too tightly around the glans (the head of the penis), which can cause pain and a sensation of tightness.
2. Healing Process: After circumcision, the healing process can vary significantly from person to person. Swelling, scarring, and sensitivity in the area can contribute to discomfort. If the incision site has not healed properly, or if there is excessive scar tissue formation, this can lead to a sensation of tightness or constriction. Additionally, the nerves in the area may be hypersensitive during the healing phase, which can exacerbate the feeling of pain or tightness.
3. Potential Solutions:
- Consultation with a Urologist: It is crucial to follow up with a urologist who specializes in male genital surgeries. They can assess the surgical site, evaluate the tightness, and determine if there are any complications such as scarring or excessive tension.
- Pain Management: Over-the-counter pain relief medications, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, may help alleviate discomfort. However, it is essential to consult with a healthcare provider before taking any medication.
- Gentle Stretching: If advised by a healthcare professional, gentle stretching of the remaining skin may help alleviate some of the tightness. This should be done cautiously to avoid further injury.
- Follow-Up Procedures: In some cases, if the tightness is severe and causing significant discomfort, a minor surgical procedure may be necessary to release the tension. This could involve removing excess skin or adjusting the remaining tissue to allow for more comfortable erections.
4. Psychological Impact: The psychological aspect of experiencing pain or discomfort after a surgical procedure should not be overlooked. Anxiety about sexual function or pain during erections can lead to further stress and discomfort. Counseling or therapy may be beneficial for individuals struggling with these feelings.
5. Monitoring for Complications: It's essential to monitor for signs of infection or complications, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge from the surgical site. If any of these symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is necessary.
In summary, the sensation of tightness or pain during erections after circumcision can be attributed to several factors, including surgical technique, healing, and individual anatomical differences. Seeking professional medical advice is crucial for proper evaluation and management of these symptoms. A urologist can provide tailored recommendations and interventions to address the discomfort and improve the overall healing process.
