What should I do?
I previously underwent two sessions of Clear Skin Laser treatment due to issues with pores and acne.
After the first session, I had post-treatment care, but I did not have any after the second session.
However, the results were the same: my pores became larger, and there was no difference in the acne and comedones.
I suspect it might be due to the equipment or technique used.
Therefore, I am considering going to another clinic for treatment, but I am also concerned that Clear Skin Laser may not be effective for me.
I would like to ask for a doctor's advice: should I continue with Clear Skin Laser at another clinic, or should I consider other types of laser treatments?

1.
Pore size is determined by genetics, and it will return to its original state after a period of treatment.
2.
If acne treatments are ineffective, other laser options can be considered.

When it comes to treating enlarged pores and acne, it’s understandable to feel frustrated, especially after undergoing two sessions of laser treatments without seeing the desired results. The decision to switch treatments or clinics should be made after careful consideration of several factors, including the type of laser used, the technique of the practitioner, and your specific skin type and condition.
Understanding Laser Treatments:
The term "laser treatment" encompasses various technologies, each designed to target different skin concerns. For enlarged pores and acne, two common types of lasers are the Nd:YAG laser and the fractional CO2 laser. The Nd:YAG laser is often used for its ability to penetrate deeper into the skin, promoting collagen production and improving skin texture. On the other hand, fractional CO2 lasers are more aggressive and can provide significant improvements in skin texture and pore size by removing the outer layer of skin and stimulating deeper healing.
Evaluating Previous Treatments:
If your previous treatments with the "清膚雷射" (often referred to as "clear skin laser" or "photorejuvenation laser") did not yield satisfactory results, it’s essential to evaluate why. Factors such as the specific settings used during the treatment, the number of sessions, and whether proper post-treatment care was followed can all influence outcomes. Additionally, the skill and experience of the practitioner play a crucial role in the effectiveness of laser treatments. If the technique was not optimal, it could lead to subpar results.
Considering Alternatives:
If you are contemplating switching to a different clinic or type of laser treatment, it may be beneficial to consult with a dermatologist or a licensed skincare professional who specializes in laser treatments. They can assess your skin condition and recommend the most suitable treatment options. Alternatives to laser treatments include chemical peels, microneedling, and topical treatments that can also help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of pores.
Consultation and Patch Testing:
Before making a switch, consider scheduling a consultation with a new provider. During this visit, discuss your previous experiences, concerns, and expectations. A reputable practitioner will conduct a thorough assessment of your skin and may suggest a patch test to see how your skin reacts to a new laser treatment. This step is crucial, especially if you have sensitive skin or a history of adverse reactions.
Post-Treatment Care:
Regardless of the treatment you choose, post-treatment care is vital for achieving the best results. This may include using specific skincare products, avoiding sun exposure, and following a tailored skincare regimen to support healing and enhance results.
Final Thoughts:
In conclusion, switching laser treatments for enlarged pores and acne can be a reasonable decision if your previous experiences were unsatisfactory. However, it is essential to consult with a qualified professional who can guide you through the options available and help you make an informed choice. Remember that achieving clear skin often requires a combination of treatments and a consistent skincare routine. Be patient with the process, as improvements may take time.
