Regarding height issues?
I am currently 18 years old and preparing to enter college.
My height is around 162 cm, and my parents' heights are 170 cm and 161 cm, respectively.
I regularly do pull-ups, practice martial arts, and stretch, so my activity level is sufficient.
However, since middle school, my height has been stuck at 162 cm, and now that I'm about to start college, I haven't grown taller.
My weight fluctuates between 53 to 57 kg.
Since I practice martial arts, I have some muscle, but I haven't specifically pursued bodybuilding.
I usually go to sleep by 1 AM at the latest.
What can I do to increase my height? My younger brother is already taller than me.

More Info
At 18 years old, you are at a critical juncture in your growth journey. While many individuals experience their most significant growth spurts during puberty, which typically concludes around the ages of 16 to 18 for females and 18 to 21 for males, there are still factors you can consider to maximize your height potential.
Understanding Growth Potential
Firstly, it's essential to understand that genetics play a significant role in determining your height. Your parents' heights (170 cm and 161 cm) suggest that your genetic potential may not be significantly higher than your current height of 162 cm. However, this does not mean you cannot make the most of your growth potential.
Nutrition
Nutrition is a crucial factor in growth. Even at 18, ensuring you have a balanced diet rich in essential nutrients can help support your body. Here are some dietary recommendations:
1. Protein: Essential for growth and muscle development. Include lean meats, fish, eggs, dairy products, legumes, and nuts in your diet.
2. Calcium: Vital for bone health. Aim for at least 1,000 mg of calcium daily, which can be obtained from dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified foods.
3. Vitamin D: Helps your body absorb calcium. You can get vitamin D from sunlight exposure, fatty fish, fortified foods, and supplements if necessary.
4. Zinc and Magnesium: Important for growth and development. Foods like nuts, seeds, whole grains, and legumes are good sources.
5. Hydration: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as it supports overall health and bodily functions.
Sleep
Sleep is another critical component of growth. Growth hormone, which plays a significant role in height increase, is primarily released during deep sleep. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Since you mentioned going to bed at 1 AM, consider adjusting your sleep schedule to ensure you get adequate rest. Going to bed earlier can help improve the quality of your sleep and, in turn, support your growth.
Exercise
You mentioned engaging in activities like pull-ups, martial arts, and stretching exercises. These are excellent for promoting good posture and muscle strength. Here are some additional suggestions:
1. Stretching and Flexibility Exercises: Incorporate yoga or Pilates into your routine to improve flexibility and posture, which can make you appear taller.
2. High-Intensity Sports: Activities like basketball, swimming, and cycling can stimulate growth hormones and improve overall fitness.
3. Strength Training: While you don’t have to focus solely on bodybuilding, incorporating some strength training can help build muscle and improve your overall physique.
Posture
Maintaining good posture can also make a significant difference in how tall you appear. Slouching can make you look shorter than you are. Practice standing and sitting up straight, and consider exercises that strengthen your core and back muscles.
Medical Consultation
If you are concerned about your growth or if you feel you are not growing as expected, consider consulting a healthcare professional. They can evaluate your growth plates through X-rays to determine if you still have growth potential. They can also check for any underlying health issues that might be affecting your growth.
Conclusion
While you may have limited time left for significant height increase, focusing on nutrition, sleep, exercise, and posture can help you maximize your potential. Remember, height is just one aspect of who you are, and embracing your unique qualities is equally important. Stay active, eat well, and maintain a positive mindset as you transition into this new chapter of your life.
