White mucus from the penis during bowel movements?

Hello doctor, today during bowel movement, I noticed a white, sticky fluid coming from my penis, but it doesn't have much of a smell.
The last time I masturbated was three weeks ago.
Could this be semen? I have no abnormalities when urinating; there is no pain or burning.
Three days ago, I had a routine urinalysis at a clinic, and the results showed trace protein (+,-), ketones (+,+,+), and 4-6 white blood cells per high power field, with a trace of blood reaction (+,-).
The doctor reviewed the report and said there were no issues, but I am still worried, especially since this situation occurred again today.
I'm not sure what to do.

Hello: During bowel movements, it is possible for larger or harder stools to exert pressure on the prostate, leading to the release of prostatic fluid, which is a component of semen but does not contain sperm, so it is not referred to as semen.
Your urine test results are fine.
Do you have any issues with constipation? If so, addressing that would be more practical.
Wishing you good health.

The presence of a white, sticky discharge from the penis during bowel movements can be concerning, and it is understandable that you are worried about it. Based on your description, there are several potential explanations for this symptom.

Firstly, the discharge you are experiencing could be pre-ejaculatory fluid, also known as pre-cum. This fluid is produced by the Cowper's glands and is typically clear or slightly cloudy. It can sometimes appear white and sticky, especially if it has mixed with other bodily fluids or if there is a small amount of residual semen. Given that you mentioned you last masturbated three weeks ago, it is possible that this discharge is related to that activity, especially if there was any residual fluid in the urethra.

Another possibility is that the discharge could be related to a mild infection or inflammation of the urethra, known as urethritis. This condition can be caused by various factors, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or non-infectious causes such as irritation from soaps, lotions, or other products. However, since you mentioned that you do not have any pain or burning during urination, this is less likely.
Your recent urinalysis results showed some abnormalities, such as the presence of protein and ketones, as well as a few white blood cells. While your doctor indicated that there was no significant issue, it is essential to consider that these findings could suggest some underlying condition that may need further investigation. For instance, protein in the urine can indicate kidney issues, while ketones may suggest that your body is in a state of ketosis, possibly due to dietary factors or dehydration.

Given that you are experiencing this discharge specifically during bowel movements, it may also be related to pressure in the pelvic area. Straining during bowel movements can sometimes cause the release of fluid from the urethra, especially if there is any tension in the pelvic floor muscles.

To address your concerns, here are some recommendations:
1. Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any additional symptoms that may arise, such as changes in the color or consistency of the discharge, pain during urination, or any unusual odors.
2. Hydration and Diet: Ensure you are well-hydrated and consider your diet, as dehydration and certain foods can affect urine composition and overall health.

3. Follow-Up with a Healthcare Provider: Since you have already had a urinalysis, it may be beneficial to follow up with your healthcare provider if the discharge persists or if you develop any new symptoms. They may recommend further testing, such as a urine culture or STI screening, to rule out any infections.

4. Avoid Irritants: Be cautious with any products you apply to the genital area, as they can sometimes cause irritation leading to discharge.

5. Consider Pelvic Floor Health: If you are experiencing any discomfort or tension in the pelvic area, pelvic floor exercises or relaxation techniques may help alleviate some of the pressure.

In summary, while the white sticky discharge you are experiencing could be related to normal physiological processes, it is essential to stay vigilant and consult with a healthcare professional if you have ongoing concerns. They can provide a thorough evaluation and ensure that any underlying issues are addressed appropriately.
