Hello! Green tea contains polyphenols, which are believed to be associated with cancer prevention; however, there is currently insufficient evidence to conclusively demonstrate a reduction in cancer incidence.
Recent studies in the United States have found that black tea contains antioxidants (flavonoids) that may reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, but again, there is still not enough conclusive evidence to support this.
Healthy adults can consume moderate amounts of unsweetened black or green tea daily; however, excessive consumption may lead to the loss of certain nutrients, such as calcium and iron.
Some populations, such as patients with kidney disease, should avoid drinking tea.
All foods have their nutritional functions, and both excess and deficiency can harm health; food should not be treated as medicine.
