Blood sugar levels are higher after dinner compared to lunch?


Due to impaired glucose tolerance, I have been controlling my diet recently.
To monitor my progress, I have been eating a fixed amount of rice and measuring my blood sugar levels.
However, I feel a bit discouraged.
I am consuming 85 grams of multigrain rice, and my blood sugar levels are still on the borderline.
The blood sugar after dinner (136-140) is significantly higher than after lunch (110-120), even though I eat the same portion for both meals.
Could this be because I do household chores after lunch and sit down to work after dinner? I'm unsure if I should reduce my rice portion further, but 85 grams seems quite small already.

Hello, 85g of rice for dinner is really too little! In fact, there are many factors that affect blood sugar, not just the rice itself, including side dishes, meats, fried foods, and the portion of fruits, among others.
Additionally, have you measured your blood sugar before dinner? Are there any factors that could influence your pre-dinner blood sugar? If it is already high before dinner, then it will certainly be higher after dinner! In the evening, we tend to be less active, but you can take a walk after eating.
Research also suggests that doing some resistance training to increase muscle mass can help lower blood sugar levels.
